tunneler (112), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jan 24, 2008 Deep brown, smells of sweet malt and sugar, raisins and a dark fruitiness in the middle then a nasty bite of alcohol (I think that’s what it is) about 2/3rd of the way through ruins the finish. stef7321 (15), Williamsburg, Virginia, USA Jan 24, 2008 I liked this well enough, but it wasn’t as spectacular as I think its competitors. While I was surprised by the immense flavor of the very pale Abbey Pal, the brown left me wanting a little more oomph. WillieV (191), Maryland, USA Jan 20, 2008 Bottle: Poured dark brown with a thick light brown head. Has a bit of an aftertaste but overall not that bad. Yves (989), Beerse, Belgium Jan 20, 2008 Updated: Jan 27, 2008Clear brown coloured beer with average white head. Malty fruity aroma, full creamy palate, ending is a little metallic and bitter.
Nice one. ejdischer (11), Cromwell, Connecticut, USA Jan 17, 2008 The beer that got me into Belgian’s. Bought it because it was $7 a bottle at a bar I was at and I had to try it. I loved everything about this beer. Raising come through as well as chocolate. Goes great with a chocolate chip cookie. Head retention great. KimJohansen (6645), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jan 14, 2008 Hazy brown with large head. Sweet malty aroma with ripe fruits and yeast. Sweet flavor with caramel, rasted malt and plums. jujubeast6000 (768), Houston, Texas, USA Jan 13, 2008 (bottle): Pours a humongous head, off-white, creamy, good lacing, very lasting. Dark reddish body. Sugary flowery aroma. Sweet hoppy, some malts in the aroma. Sweet sugary taste. Some acidic. Warming up, softer, more floral, less dark fruit.
