Commercial Description:
Has a very distinctive bouquet: yeasty, fruity and slightly smoky. In palate, it has notes of port, raisins and black chocolate. Editor's note: Apparently production has moved from Van Steenberge to du Bocq as of Sept 2007.

Big bottle in a tin can. Complex aroma. Orange, a bit like Bush Noel actually! A good strong taste with a silky texture.

First of all, I’m a huge fan of abbey ales. With that being said, this stuff is incredible. The appearance, well....peep the picture, it’s brilliant. The head lasts for ages. The aroma reveals that amazing Belgian yeast, orange citrus, plum and a bit of roasty, almost smoky malts. The flavor, differing mildly from the scent, gives way to a host of flavours not hinted at in the aroma. These include figs, clove, a variety of dark fruits, chocolate, candied sugar and also the yeaste. The palate is tingly, velvety smooth and medium-bodied, with lively carbonation and a smooth, long, not-so-dry finish. I will give this the numbers it deserves. Don’t be jaded in similarities in Belgian brews. also, this is not a brown ale, so get your shit right when rating. Thankyou.

pours a light golden brown with a two finger head and tons of small bubbles in the glass. a very active beer, head is light and fluffy, smells of mild chocolate, plum, and sweetness. taste is in line for the style, chocolate, spices, malts, cherry. has a fairly good body and good carbination through the whole beer.

On tap. Mahogny with a rich creamy beige head. Sweet caramel nose with a complex spices and yeast. Sweet, lightly roasted caramel taste. Relatively fluffy and light-bodied. Enjoyable.

Bomber, shared with ArcaneApollo. Pours a deep reddish-brown with a lacy white head. Aroma is of spices and slight chocolate and candy sugar. Taste is spicy with a bit of a chocolate aftertaste. Very solid brown ale, though not the best I’ve had.

The flavors seem almost standard with these Belgium ingredients. Caramel, nuttiness, rich malts and mild floral hops. Quite tasty

The aroma has prunes, candy, and yeast. The appearance is dark brown with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is a little thin. This is a nice beer.
