| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2009 This beer has a very dark brown body light barely passes threw, might be a bit cloudy but I can’t tell because the beer is to dark, it also has a massive pillowy beige head. The aroma was yeasty and of dark fruit, maybe some nuts in there to. Feels soft and highly carbonated in my mouth, its also very dry. The flavour is very red wine like and maybe a little sour, I’m also getting some dates or prune flavours at the back of my throat. I’m trying really hard to like this beer but it’s just letting me down, don’t get me wrong this is still a good beer but theirs just better abbey style beer out there." beerchugger (292), Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2009 Pours a very deep brown with a soft pillowy head that dissaptes quickly. Smells of rich malts, caramel, and some nice hints of spice. There are some pleasant notes of dark fruits as well. The spice is most noticeable. But the malts come through giving flavors of chocolate, prunes, and subtle candied sugars. Very nice. MrChopin (632), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 9, 2009 Dark brown, fluffy beige head. Lots of raisin and plum in the nose, also some banana and pepper. Smooth mouth has some chocolate, sugary raisin, more and a dark fruit finish. With warmth, the roasted malt gets a little ashy and smoky. Very smooth and laid back thanks to only moderate carbonation and a relatively large body. Surprisingly warming. I’m not a huge fan of the style, but this is quite pleasant. RHeastings (392), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 26, 2009 Enjoyed via 11.2oz bottle. Pours a medium brown to medium-dark copper. Nose of spices, perhaps a little clove, and a touch of banana and darker fruits. Palate seems to be an interesting balance of sweetness up front and some sourness at the finish, almost what one might expect from an Oud Bruin. Perhaps a little bit of caramel, some alcohol, and a wee bit of prune. Well crafted. MitchWayne (264), Kokkola, Finland
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Dark fruits, chocolate and malt in both the aroma and the taste. Fairly dry. I like it but it is maybe a bit unexciting. philippem (53), Montréal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2009 12 oz bottle thanks to machfive55. Pours a deep brown color with a huge fluffy beige head. The aroma is very nice; spices, nutmeg, light oak, roasted chocolates. The flavor is awesome; smooth and rich chocolates, tons of yeast, light fruit, a spicy backbone. A full and creamy palate. The thing I liked most was how unassuming this beer is, it is simple and quaffable but also awesome. A superb brown ale. LarsEngen (101), Sandvika, Norway
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 9, 2009 33 cl bottle. Brown color with a large off white head. Weak aroma of caramel, flavor is also weak of dark fruits and roasted malt. Thin beer that was boring.
