Sweet malty aroma with lots of dried fruits, yeasts and coriander spice. Initially sweetmalty taste with an almost refreshing slightly sour fruitiness turning into a spicy (pepper, coriander) and sweetbitter finish with hints of grilled red paprika. Medium body, the alcohol is well integrated. A very tasty Dubble ! Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

Light citric, yet sweet and malty aroma. Candi-sweet flavor with bitterness. Full-bodied and with a bitter finish. Rating: 6-4-8-4-16-3.8 (060328)
Bottle, 33cl. In my head, I had memories of a slightly hazy beer, but this time it was translucent. Deep, reddish brown body, with a nice, creamy, beige head on top. Good retention and pretty lacings. Dried fruits, some fresh fruityness, a hint of yeast and a good sweetness in the aroma. Some chocolate as well. The flavor is sweet and sugary, but the sweetness is far from alone. There’s a very present flavor of dried fruits, and also a nice bitterness that lasts. It has a slightly warming mouthfeel, it’s quite sticky and full-bodied. A weak note of cocoa is also present in the flavor. As the beer warms up a bit, a subdued sour note appeares in the aroma, but it’s far from spoiling the experience. I like this one, but I don’t think it would be fair lifting my score any further. It suits the colder months best, and it gives me a little christmasy feeling. Pity it’s so unavailable here in Norway, even though it’s available at Vinmonopolet. Sweet malty aroma of toast, brown sugar, molasses, sweet caramel and a strong spiced rum component that I’m really digging. Sweet plum and cherry. Creamy texture. Very sweet and malty with a complex maltiness. Toast, rye, plums, rum and molasses. Light herbal hoppiness help to dry it out and keep it from becoming cloying. Lightly charred/smokey flavour. Great malty complexity. Yeast is quite subdued letting the malts shine. Very different from most dubbels I’ve had and an excellent brew. ¾ (5012), Boulder, Colorado, USA

It pours a rich brown color with a dried fruit - plums, raisins, etc. - aroma. The taste is sweet/sour, the fruitiness coming through heavily. There’s also a solid sweet maltiness to it. Has a nifty bitter aftertaste. And, I got a free Corsendonk glass with the drink!
