americanjohn99 (1), Dallas, Texas, USA does not count Jan 2, 2002 Excellent, smooth flavor. One of the best brews I have tried. Each bottle has been a pleasant experience. The Brown Ale is a much better selection than the Pale Ale. A taste exquisite. labattfreak (58), Coldwater, Michigan, USA Sep 13, 2004 I first heard about this beer when I was reading "Get Fuzzy" when Rob Wilco was balancing one on his stomach while drunk. I wondered if it is real. Lo and behold, it is! So I found some, and I was amazed!!! It tastes so much like the sparkling grape juice I drank as a kid, only better! The creamy head, the pretty color, and the sweet taste...this beer is awesome! I want to try the pale ale! dwyerpg (2032), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Feb 28, 2004 With a full airy head and beautiful brown color, this is definitely one of the best beers i've ever had. Period. room_temp_beer (185), Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 6, 2003 Beers pours (in corsendonk glass) a large, frothy head. Color of beer is dark brown, but can easily be seen through when held up to light. Aroma is of plum, raisin, molasses, and chocolate. Head is off-white to medium caramel colored, and soft in texture formed by very small bubbles. Head rises slowly like the back end of the Titanic, spilling over onto the wood desk - damn it!! Will it ever stop?!?! Alright, head is scooped out with a metal spoon and discarded (is that bad?). Feels good in the mouth, very smooth, but not dry. Easily drinkable, somewhat sweet - the alcohol is very well hidden, not even noticable. Excellent beer - will definitely drink again (and again). Digital room temperature reading is 71 degrees. Sampled at 71 degrees Fahrenheit, then. andrewboss (126), USA Jun 13, 2007 Updated: Aug 8, 2007One of those perfect beers for me. It’s my favorite of the Trappist Monk beers. It’s a bit on the expensive side, so it’s hard to stock up on it. But every once in a while it’s a treat to have it.
