Commercial Description:
Has a very distinctive bouquet: yeasty, fruity and slightly smoky. In palate, it has notes of port, raisins and black chocolate. Editor's note: Apparently production has moved from Van Steenberge to du Bocq as of Sept 2007.

murky copper , fluffy head. thin mouthfeel. tart but earthy aroma. tastes the same as the aroma, slightly tart but mostly rich--plummy,raisiny, whichever. i am very sad to rate this tasty beer on the day the columbia crashed.

Very good with dinner. Flavers in this beer were pleasing; on the sweet side to me.

Fruity aroma with a thick creamy head. Sweet, toasty, woody, chocolatey, port like taste with a slight hoppiness.

very nice flavor, a little over carbed but light and refreshing(for a brown ale)not as strong as i would have thought, but decent never the less.

On tap. Very pleasant flavour with some ’heavy’ fruits (plums! etc.). Apparantly quite a few female Danish beer enthusiasts really like this ale.

Huge head of bubbles on the bottom and nice frothy head on the top. Great carbonation throughout. Color of dark brown with decent clarity. Aroma of raisins, yeast, a bit of old decaying wood and fruit. Full bodied beer with flavors of malt, yeast, various fruits and alcohol. Finish is slightly metallic, dry and warming from the alcohol. Also some lingering spices (pepper) that make the tongue tingle. Not the best of the variety but a good beer in its class. Kind of average for a dubbel.

Tap. Malty raisin aroma. Dark brown with small head. Sweet raisin and plum flavor - mild alcohol finish. Nice smooth and tasty brew.
