75cl bottle - pours dark brown/copper with a big, fluffy off-white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, lots of apple and yeast and brown sugar. Smelled to me like a dark cider. Flavour was similarly cider-like, which doesn’t seem to match up with a lot of the other reviews here, so I wonder about the condition of the bottle I had. There was a strong yeasty/biscuity character underneath this, but the sour sweetness of the cider sort of put me off this one. Very juicy. Weird.

Jul 25, 2008 Very nice dubbel indeed! Pours a very dark brown hue with a monster head that sticks around. Smells of over-ripened apples, dark fruits, dates. Solid on the palate, a little sweet as you would expect but not cloying. Very easy to drink. Just a very good dubbel that has it’s own unique subtleties. Gets better as it warms!

Jul 19, 2008 A hazy brown colored beer, with a foamy beige head. The aroma of fruits, malts and herbs. The taste of dark malts and fruits, like raisins. A little spicey and la little bitterness. A realy good beer.

Jun 21, 2008 750 mL bottle bought by my girlfriend for my birthday.Pours a dark reddish brown with fluffy off-white head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is raisins, chocolate, dark fruit, cinnamon, candy sugar. Taste is great: dark, dried fruit, malt, chocolate, vanilla and wood. The candy sugar is apparent in the finish. A lovely dubbel, and a great birthday present.
