Very nice rather sweet belgian strong beer. No bitter aftertaste and easy to drink for a strong beer. Not too sweet though and lots of flavors such as caramel, orange and spices. Ideal beer for starting beer enthousiasts.

Bottle 75 cl courtesy of Morrigan (Naples, Italy). One night I was in my friend beer-shop in Naples, and two guys came in. They get out from a station-wagon with some Corsendonk sitcky on rear window, came in and said in a sorta of northern-Italian accent: "Qui si beve buona birra???" (literaly: "Is this a place to have some good beers???"). Then asked for a Corsendonk to my friend, and his reply was: "I haven’t Corsendonk since it’s a discount beer". Well... I remember when I was a poor beginner to craft beer and had a Corsendonk Rousse. I liked it, have to admit. But now... aroma is like Efferalgan or similar vitamine supplement with orange and yeasty or breadish notes; color is orange, totally clear. There in your palate, water with sugar and some Fanta (commercial citrus beverage), yeast notes again and the weakest malt I ever feel in a Belgian Beer. Some kind of spice. Finish is boring, like powder of synthetic orange, so the rest of bottle. Then I thought for a good idea, and share it with sink.

330ml bottle. Clear dark golden to amber colour with huge unstable macropore off-white head. Fruity aroma, red berries, with explicit artificial sherbet touch. Sweet malty and fruity taste, decent prickling sherbet-like undertone. Nice, but too sweet and a bit artificial.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a clear amber-golden hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas are spicy, phenolic, clove, coriander, light pepper, mild, dry fruit esters, a touch of alcohol heat and lightly spicy hop. Flavors are quite sweet, candied nectarines, lightly syrupy, medium duration, mildly spicy hop. Overall very sweet with a lot of caramel like flavors. Lively bubbles, warming. Still feels heavy.

nose a little bit winelike, phenolic at the beginning, butter and dried fruits. Sweet on the taste, again the dried fruits without bitterness

(33cl bottle, BB 19/07/14) Pours a clear golden body with a moderate white head. Aroma of yeast, sweet corn, subtle baked apple, and caramel. Flavor of yeast, candy corn, caramel, and grass.

Bottle 18/01/15 [and so I hope its youth explains the sweet-tooth]. A little glazed-toffee candy swelling up from the bottle, but the aroma isn’t terribly sweet. Some yeast and noble hops, but both in the background, with marshmallow and fruit a little closer to the fore. Bright, vibrant orange body with a rocky tan-tinged head. Well, much much sweeter in the mouth, barely dries out by the end, sugary start with generic fruit puree and Berlgian hops, slight yeast. Tumbling creamy/airy medium body with some alcohol, though no burning or even gradual warmth. Resides in dessert wine/Port territory, and a nice one!

Tap @ Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Slightly hazy orange colour with a small white head. Smells a bit sugary, sweet and candy-ish. Tastes a bit candy-ish also.. Quite sweet and round. Some iron like taste and some herbs. Okay carbo, medium body.

Bottle @ home, from Burg bieren. Clear amber color, medium frothy head. Aroma of belgian yeast, quite malty, bit fruity. Bit sweet, yeasty esters, bit dry, hint of chocolat. Bit in between a double and a triple. I was expecting something horrible, but it’s not too bad actually.
