Bottle. Dark brown color. Slightly perfumed plumaroma. Malty sweet flavor with hints of roast and plums. Drinkable, but not very characterful.

Clear medium to dark red amber color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, overripped berry - fruity, moderate yeasty, light raisin - plum, leather notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, brown sugar, alcohol notes, yeasty notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to lively. [20110121]

Bottle: Fluffy light brown head on top of a dark deep redish brown colored beer. Smell whiskey, dark fruit, raisin and spices and a hint of soap and malts. Taste rye bread, caramel, malts, dark fruit, prunes, bitter, dust, nuts and yeast and dough.  Medium body, low carbo and soft to tingling mouthfeel.

Pours a dark ruby red to brown beer. Clear, no indication of yeast in the bottle. Little head that clears fast, white to beige. Smells pretty sweet, caramel and malty. Full mouthfeeling, enough carbon. A lot of roasted malts at first, slightly acidic in the aftertaste, again with roasted malts and caramel. A pretty flat taste sensation for 8% alcohol, but still very balanced and no "flaws".

Taste this @ home on 22.12.2010. Brown color with red shine and a cream beige head. Aroma sweet, chocolat. Medium body. Taste artificial, sweet, chocolate touch. Like the Pater Corsendonk more.

JorisPPattyn (7306) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JAN 23, 2010
Huge, fine & dense dark cream head, leaving rings of lace of dark ruby-red to brown beer. Very chocolatey nose, green leaves, sweet, but also deep-dusty, perfumed to fragrant. Sweet taste, again sweet chocolate, and, alas, much more superficial than the nose suggested. Plain, not bad. Seems again a point of saltiness in the finish, as with the Goudblond. Strange fizzy MF, interspecking the viscous, thick-velvety MF. As said: plain, not bad.

bottle, dark reddish/brown colour with white head. Fruity and sweet smell. Taste: yeasty, fruity, roasted malts, candy sugar, coriander with some bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice one!
