FROTHINGSLOSH (4785) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 9, 2013
From the February 2013 3R6P tasting. My favorite beer of the night!+++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a brown color with orange highlights and a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was woody with sweet caramel, honey, bourbon and vague fruity hops. The flavor was bourbon, wood, coconut, pineapple, berries and vanilla. Wonderfully full of flavor and complex. Long wood, vanilla and pineapple finish. Moderately full bodied. Marvelous.

Bottle shared at Dadtoberfest. The aroma is nice: candi sugar, fruit, bread, bourbon. The appearance is red/brown, off-white head. The flavor is like the aroma, really nice. The bourbon is restrained, and adds just the right amount of flavor to the beer. The finish is sweet, pine needles. Medium/thick in body. Nicely done.

A lightly hazed dark amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a nice pungent malt with light vanilla notes, floral hops, musky vanilla notes. In mouth, a nice sweet treacle malt light bourbon notes, floral hops, loads of alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at brewery, Dec. 3 2011.

Pouring at TAPNY. Pours a clear ruby brown. Bourbon on the nose in ridiculously large amounts. Sweet and oaky. Lots of sweetness, bourbon and caramel. Sweet and malty, caramel and toast. Warm sweetness, long bourbon, wood on the finish.

Location: Sampled at TapNY, 4/26/14

Aroma: The nose is heavy bourbon, with some toffee malts, vanilla, and caramel
Appearance: The pour is brown, with a red hue, a beige-brown head and average lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, heavy on the bourbon with some strong malt flavors as well
Palate: The body is medium, with a decent amount of ABV burn, but somehow remains drinkable
Overall Impression: They called this Jack Daniel’s Aged at the festival. I actually quite enjoyed this one. There’s a ton of bourbon on the nose, taste, and feel, but it is surprisingly drinkable considering how strong the bourbon is.

Bottle... Not sure when this was bottled, but could definitely tell there was some age here. Poured cloudy near opaque, dark amber, red with a thin forming, light tan head. Aroma had some oxidation with a sweet tea tone as well. Mild oxidation, sweetened black tea notes, date and prune-like fruits with a hint of bourbon soaked wood. Caramel sweetness, quite sweet actually, along with some alcohol warmth that lingered in towards the finish.

Bottle from Westmere bev. Pours ruby brown with thin head and fruity nose. Tastes of dark fruits, vanilla, toffee, butter, light bourbon. Not too sweet or sticky. Hides alcohol well for %.
