Bottled. Brown and just barely transparent. Maybe not as dark as the common mild these days. More like Banks Original Mild. Full roasted malt aroma. Mocha and roasted malt flavour. Ash and burnt wood qualities which aren’t by any means over powering just more’ish. Well behaved from the bottle and maintaining its full bone head to the very end.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 5/09/2011. Dark brown with a decent, off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel, damson jam and milk chocolate. Flavour had plenty more caramel and fruit, with a slight, milky sourness and dry finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle. [thanks jezek]
Pours deep brown with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has malts, milky chocolate, light roasted. Highish carbonation, light and mild dry finish. Flavour is a bit off, light tart, chocolate, berries, mildly roasted. Not excactly in perfect shape, but still feels fairly fresh.

Pigs Ear. Clear dark brown beer. Suddy off white head. No carbonation. Softish semi dry palate. Semi sweet dark toffee and a dash of chocolate drinking powder and dark chocolate as well. Slight tang from the hop.

Bottle conditioned. 500ml. Poured a deep dark red with a white fluffy head. A malty beer with sufficient bitterness and biscuity undertones. Quite a dry finish with some roast notes. Quite a quaffable beer.

Bottle. Brown with a large off-white foam. Aromas are weetabix and chocolate malts with lots of hazelnut. Some zesty berries, too. Flavours are sweet chocolate and biscuit malts with yeast. Berry fruit with some acidity. Bitter, fruity and a bit muddled on the finish. Overall, quite decent.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Brown with a small white head. Ashy malt aroma. Leathery liquorice taste with dark fruits and mid bitter finish. Does what it says really.

DruncanVeasey (5147) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2009
Cask handpull, SIBA Champions’ Fest 09. Raspberry jelly red with a white rim. Lovely chew of raisin, sesame, toasted sweet nuts and slightly vegetal cocoa aroma. Odd herbal sweet hops, strawberry hints, bitter husky malts, dusting of cocoa, toasted nuts. Strange and pleasant.

johndoughty (2946) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 22, 2008
Bottle. Dark and malty. Plenty of body and quite complex. Some fruitiness and a range of other flavours makes for an interesting old ale. The amateurish label doesn’t do the beer justice.

Cask handpull at Market Porter, Borough Market. Mahogany colour with disappearing head. Dry malty beer. A little thin in the mouth, some raspberry fruit, could be good if in better condition, a little watery.
