(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 20 May 2010) Deep amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, slightly toasty nose with dried fruit, a touch of sulphur and earthy hops. Malty, toasty taste with notes of dried apricots, orange peel, a hint of sulphur and earthy hops in the finish. Slightly below medium body, balanced sweetness, generous bitterness. A very tasty and well balanced bitter

Cask in the market porter. Alround rating: Roasted chcolate(subtle) malt, thin and grassy with hints of fruityness, but a bit boring really.

500 ml bottle. Poured deep amber with a small off white head. A clear ale despite the sediment left in the bottle. Very bitter, with a nice balance of malt & fruit. I liked this.

Bottle. Amber brown with an off-white head. Aromas are weetabix and tea with some nuttiness. Flavours are dry, nutty and hoppy with chocolate and weetabix malts. Earthy and peppery with light citrus. Too much carbonation. A standard traditional bitter.

Cask at The Market Porter. Dark amber with a creamy froth. Fruity aroma. Some citrus as well as earthy hop flavours, with some chocolate notes in the finish. Body is light. Not bad.
