Cask Conditioned Handpump Criterion Leicester. A light amber coloured beer with an off-white thin head. The aroma is fairly sweet and fruity with a faint hint of vinegar. The taste is also on the sweet side with berries. Decent enough but would prefer less chewy fruitiness.

Dartford Beer Fest. Biscuit and toffee pale malt with a light dusting of fragrant hops. Lovely balance. Quite drinkable and pleasant. Though it possibly lacks the character, charm and interest for a really impressive beer, this could grow on me. [3.9]

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2006 Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd. Bright copper with a small off-white skim. A nice sweet rose aroma with a touch of orange, and a whiff of dill. Warmly grainy malt, marmalade, and an herbal finish. A nicely layered unveiling of flavors. Soft creamy sweetness that still finishes dry between sips. A well-made and well-served ale.
