3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7065) - London, - APR 21, 2009
Cask (gravity) at the Hop Pole Easter beer festival 2009, Aylesbury. Reddish colour. Not opaque. Dry and roasty. Not the richest stout but quite tasty. More earthy than full. A bit thin for a stout. Fin’s reference to it being based on an old porter recipe makes more sense.

Cask gravity at The Hop Pole, Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury, Bucks in the company of Loz, Chris O and Ruth 10-04-09 Pours brown with a light beige head. Light chocolate and hops on the nose. Chocolate in the mouth but the hops are a little earthier and add to what is a slightly rustic feel to this beer, some thin maltiness continues, its really not bad at all. I recall that we were told at the beer festival that this beer was an onld Wem recipe but as I recall was for one of their Porters. A6 A3 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3
