Overall not to bad. Pours a dark brown color and has decent aroma. Taste is light but pretty smooth. Has notes mild notes of chocolate and nuts and a little bitterness.

At first pour, it looked dark but the aroma drew me in. I started to drink this cold and the taste was good but as it got warmer I definitely was able to appreciate all the flavors. Definitely the top brown ale for me.

Decent brown ale, bomber, love the design on the bottle, but the taste was standard brown ale

Pretty damn good for a style that seldom is. Dark mahogany pour with garnet and scarlet edges. Minuscule khaki head. Rich cocoa, caramel, and brown sugar essence. Touch of vanilla as well. Aggressive flavor despite the minimal ABV. Enjoyed it.

Draft. Poured a slightly ruby brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was caramel notes, some light brown sugar, molasses character. Touch of nut in there. Flavor was sweet slightly toasted malt character, touch of toffee. Pretty drinkable.

Bottle from Keg N Bottle #2: The liquid poured a dark almost blackish colored brown with a firm layer of foam head. In the aroma, a full bodied nutty scent with plenty of caramelized toasted malts. The flavor is rich and unexpected seeing that this was a brown ale from a random unknown brewing company. As for the finish, there is some sweet licorice tastes that make this beer somewhat decent.

Bottle; poured a very dark auburn color with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, cookies, and fruit. A bit off, but not quite bad. Flavor was fairly watery with some decent cookie/brown malt that fades to a weird finish. Watery palate and fairly bland.

Pours a cola brown color with aroma of roasted malt. Taste is clean, roasted nut flavor with a slight flavor of caramel. This beer leaves a clean palate with little to no aftertaste. A good brown ale thanks to knewell.

22oz bottle. Nice looking beer with bitching label!! A bold brownish/red color that had an off-white head that went away pretty quickly. Nice chocolate aroma, really pleasant. Light flavor, more chocolate, it actually dominates the flavor pretty good which isn’t a bad thing, a very very good brown.

I’m not sure of the past comments but the batch of Hell Hound Brown that I tasted has a sweet nose and great color for a real brown ale. It’s not wimpy in color or too stout like in its appearance. The first sip gave me a roasty, chocolaty taste that was not overpowering at all. It dissipated quickly with the finish and lingered only a moment. Just enough to leave me wanting another sip. I have always been a real brown ale lover and this is by far the best one I have tasted. Perhaps there were sanitary issues with the brewery Cosmic Ales used before. I can say that they have responded to the reviews and corrected those problems and are now making a great beer!
