A hazed golden ale with a thick frothy off white head. In aroma, smooth grassy malt with light mineral notes and grassy floral hops. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with smooth cereal notes, grassy hops, quaffable. BB 24-7-14.

Keg at Hotel Belmar, Monteverde. Hazy deep golden, smalk head. Fruity nose with mild citrus. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Crystal malt, ripe fruits and restrained hops. Low bitterness.

After tasting the Costa Rica Red Ale, we decided to try this blonde ale. A little bit lighter than the red with a tropical fruity presence. The deliciously drinkable ale is very refreshing.

Discovered on tap at La Davino Comida in San Jose, CR. Pours a medium gold with a medium white head with decent retention. Aroma of sweet bread, white grapes, and mild tropical fruits. Flavor to match. Moderate body. A really enjoyable brew. A good start for Costa Rican craft breweries.

Tried in Costa Rica, Puerto Viejo, 2013 Aug 22. Purchased at Supermercado Diamante, Puerto Viejo; 355ml bottle for 1,200 colones (= $2.40). Brewery: Costa Rica’s Craft Brewing Company, Cartgo, Costa Rica. Beer: Libertao. Colour: medium gold. Head: medium. Aroma: like an immature (i.e., not so strong) good Belgian Ale, with clear notes of balanced hops and malt. Taste: like aroma. Summary: very good and definitely worth repeating frequently.

Poured from a bottle, thanks to Craig. Notes of jalapeno pepper, malty, slight tartness. Not my cup of tea or beer.

Fruity aroma and taste. Light-medium body and bitterness. Slightly carbonated with a hint of hops and malt, balanced with smooth, dry finish. Overall, a well-balanced, smooth, easy drinking golden -blonde ale.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Craig. Pours a clear orange color with a large white head. A big nose of passionfruit and grain. The flavor is similar: fruity, easy, honey, light caramel. Good.
