Cask Conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber beer with short head. Strong malty beer with a heady plummy note, sharp alcohol nasal notes, a little unbalanced for a bigger beer.

First tasted this in Gabriels, Paisley in July 1997. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Slight hint of roasted grain and golden syrup in the long aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit base with flavours of soft caramel, raisin fruit, golden syrup and roast grain. Strong notes of floral hops and metallic flavours in the long bitter aftertaste. Bitter sweet in the finish with dry redcurrant fruit and oak cask notes. A decent slow supping ale but would have this down as more of an ESB in style though.
