Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton 24/06/13. A golden beer with a white head and lacing. A sweetish beer. Light fruits on the nose. Malty and boozy in the mouth. Silly cold and suffering for it. Has a reasonable fruity flavour but it’s shielded.

500ml. In a tankard. Dusty yeast, light biscuit and subtle spicy nose. Pretty mellow nose. It resembles any old ESB , nice white head retention. Notes of rich warming malts , caramel, biscuits, grainy - some sultanas, vanilla, spicy floral hops , light orange peth, late dusty finish: If you get past the dull aroma , a surprisingly lively ESB is here.

500ml bottle at home as ’Osprey Strong Ale’. 35th anniversary bottle. 5.0%, BB Aug 2015. Dark orange, pretty clear, lightly sparkling, small foamy off-white head. Aroma is green apple, some elderflower and grape. Body is medium, rounded and smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is light and quite watery with tea, apple, sodawater, shortbread. Finishes with a crisp hop bite and has a dusty bitterness. Possibly a few signs of oxidation - background sherry and cardboard, but not detracting too much. Quite enjoyable overall.

stravale (2701) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - SEP 13, 2014
Bottle from Ales By Mail [120814]
DAark amber, clear, bubbly white head
Aroma of sweet light caramel malts, soft sweet fruits, dab of sweet apple
Taste of sweet caramel malts, dab of toffee malt, sweet honey, slight yeast, hardly any hops, mainly malts, dull
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, sweet. Finish slightly dry, bit yeasty
Overall - Standard stuff - maybe should have chilled it before hand to make it more palatable. Not good - thrown out

Bottle. Golden, small and fully diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and light floral fruitiness. Body is light to medium, malty and caramel sweetish flavor, light fruitiness, faint hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, some caramel and faint fruitiness with light butter, faint hoppyness. Caramel sweetish bitter with notes of butter. I do not get any "premium bitter" here. Could really use more bitterness.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear golden orange, no real head to speak of. Sweet malt and biscuit aromas, light butterriness, light floral note. Taste has some apples, quite sweet in a sugary way, no real hop presence. Light and a touch thin on the finish. OK.

Cask@stmatthewshall, walsall. Amber beer with small head, good lacing. Aroma of faint malts. Lots of different flavours. Malty, fruit, grain, biscuit and pepper. Probably too much and not balanced right. Ok beer in the end.
