Tiny specks of reddened light sparkle through this dark beer. A thick and creamy looking head sits atop. Strangely fresh aromas, quite cider-like. A bit sour and boozy on the nose really. The sour edge is still there in the mouth but nice roasted malts and chocolate calm it right down. Quite fruity, in a deep way and christmas-y warm to boot. Hints of liquorice in the aftertaste. Great texture to it too, airy and creamy. A bit of an odd porter.

Bottle, not sure where I got this from, consumed outside camper at Bo Peep campsite, Adderbury, Nr Banbury, Oxon, 03.09.10 Pours dark brown with a filmy off-white head. There is some nuttiness and a touch of tangy fruits. A light bitterness is evident but the nuttiness more than anything shows through. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle. Almost black beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly chocolate, and the flavour is watery, roasted, and coffee. Overall a reasonable roasted beer.

Botella, thanks Skinnyvikig for sharing. Unclear deep dark brown colour. Aroma of spice, coffee and plenty of caramel. Rather thin mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet with caramel, roasty malt, dark fruits and some bitterness. Thin porter.
