Cask (handpump) @ Marble Arch, Manchester M4, UK. Clear dark red brown color with a average, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, caramel, light to moderate bitter, nutty, pepper, light notes of licorice - cola. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. ;o)) (180108)

Cask handpull at The Belvedere, Liverpool. Very very dark brown, thick beige head. Thick, dark, slightly sour and entirely wonderful. A bit bready maybe. Some liquorice, some dry malt. Interesting, proper old ale. Some sting on finish. That hollow, sour flavour is wonderful. Great condition. Perfect for a windy Liverpool winter’s day. Very wide mouthfeel and a gingerish side to the hop. Entirely wonderful.
