3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
If only more milds had this much flavor the style would get more respect. Rather than a bland watery mess it actually has some depth and complexity. I will have to keep hunting for more like it.
Aroma / Appearance - The reddish black base is fluid and gentle. A dirty beige head collapses over time. Light truffles, semisweet malts, and very laid back hops merge into a profile that is inviting. Dashes of light smokiness peek out from time of time.
Flavor / Palate - The bitter chocolately mouthfeel is fluid and refreshing. Coffee and faint ash start the experience off well. Things then transition to an excellent smokiness like the char from a grill. This would pair well with a light lunch or before popping open some bigger styles.
