Cask @ 3rd Larbert Beer Fest. Brown colour, off-white head. Aroma is nice coffee, roasted malts, liquorice and some fruits. Flavour is roasted malta, coffee, light fruity. Excellent stuff, and, like milds in general, holds up really well in gravity cask dispension.

Gravity at Reading beer festival 2006. Ruby brown, with frothed head. Shoey smell, stony. Good, strong flavoured stuff - nuts and slight metal snecked in a stoutish malt coat. Refreshing, very good.

Draft at GBBF 2013 - London. Pours clear, golden-brown with a light, filmy head. Nice brown bread aroma with hints of toffee. Light to medium sweet flavour with brown bread and light earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate sweetness in the finish with low bitter earth, light dry toffee and hints of cocoa. Exceedingly sessionable. Excellent mild.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Reading BF. A very dark brown coloured mild with some off-white bubbles for a head. The aroma has nice smoky, roasty burnt malts. The taste is more of the same with some bitter chocolate. A very tasty mild.

Cask. Clear dark chestnut brown with a medium sized good lacing tan head. Has some candy/bubblegum to it before dark malts take over with notes of cocoa, wood, forest, rye bread. Medium body, soft carbonation and pretty soft all around. Light dry malty finish. Pleasant.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 11/05/08. Near black with a reddish tinge. Aroma of red fruit, roasted malt, dark chocolate and a hint of barnyard. Flavour had a lot more fruit, some porridge oats and more roasted malts and a lightly dry finish. A highly enjoyable mild.
