Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 11/05/08. Near black with a reddish tinge. Aroma of red fruit, roasted malt, dark chocolate and a hint of barnyard. Flavour had a lot more fruit, some porridge oats and more roasted malts and a lightly dry finish. A highly enjoyable mild.

Cask at the GBBF. Brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee with bready and fruity notes and a hint of harder roasted malt. Dry and malty flavour with roasted character and some chocolate.

Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted - burnt, caramel, coffee. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, chocolate, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110802]

Gentle roast in the aroma. Black. Brambly retronasals. Decent burnt roasst stout, some subtle hoppy bitterness. But most of the bitterness is from the burntness. An unusual mild, much drier than typical.

Cask @ GBBF, 2011. Pours amber with a small off white head. Bread, vague roast, rye and caramel. Smooth.

Cask at GBBF 2011 - Tuesday. Clear dark brown - offwhite head. Roasted, tobacco, nutty, fruity, berries, medium malty, ryebread, ok hoppy, medium bitterness.

Cask@GBBF2011. Very deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some fruits, mild toasted notes as well. Flavour is pleasantly roasted and fruity notes along with some toffeeish and wooden notes.

Tap @ GBBF. Pours dark brown with a small tanned head. Aroma is coffee, chokolate, roasted, ashy and dry. Flavor like aroma. Finishes dry hoppy.
