Cask at the GBBF. Brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee with bready and fruity notes and a hint of harder roasted malt. Dry and malty flavour with roasted character and some chocolate.

Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, roasted - burnt, caramel, coffee. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, chocolate, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110802]

Gentle roast in the aroma. Black. Brambly retronasals. Decent burnt roasst stout, some subtle hoppy bitterness. But most of the bitterness is from the burntness. An unusual mild, much drier than typical.
