2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tombyars (1210) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 24, 2011
Tasted this in The Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in August 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale orange amber in colour with a thin white head. Slight zesty citric note of pink grapefruit in the short aroma. Thin and sparkling mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a tart citric fruit note of pink grapefruit and redcurrants, although the sweetness does not last as hop resins come in quickly. Strong metallic taint of hop resins flood the aftertaste. Finish is on the dry astrigent side. An ok session bitter.

Cask (Pullman, Helsinki)
Lovely gingery and slightly dusty hoppy aroma. Rich malty body, good dry tingly hops. Very slight elastoplast hints. Finish has some ginger and dry bitterness. Absolutely excellent bitter. This is not a golden ale, it’s a proper bitter.
