White Horse, Chilham Full bodied, chocolate, malt7y, rush of blood. Interesting - though perhaps too much chocolate for my taste. Hop burn in the finish. [2.8]

Cask handpull, The Malt Shovel, Northampton, 07/05/11. Cottage follows me around like a bad smell. Misted copper with a beige halo. Sticky, yeasty red fruit skin and sesame aroma- as usual. Muddy jam, indistinct red fruit, cranberry, yeast, top of a berry cheesecake. Just another average Cottage beer scoring the generic 636312.

Cask at the Rose & Woodbine, Coventry, England on 28th January 2011. Spicy aroma with honey and leather scent. Fruity in-mouth; raspberries, herby hops. Finish was quite sharp, bitter and with continuing fruitiness; grassy notes on roof of mouth that enrich and intensify late-on. Quite a complex ale and the flavour notes sit well together.

Beatiful rich ESB. Mellow and malt/grain oriented. Gentle, yet full. Lush, and really leaves you wanting more. English bitter as it should be.

Cask @ The Edgar Wallace, Temple, London. Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Fruity malty caramel aroma. Sweet malty fruity caramel flavor. Long malty finish with hints of caramel in the aftertaste.

Cask (handpump), at the Edgar Wallace, Strand. Bright, deep copper colour. Scant white head. Mainly malty aroma. Sort of damp, clammy character with a smoky edge. The palate is all soft malt and berry fruit. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Notice how often the word "smooth" is coming up? Perhaps a bit too often. A pleasant enough mellow and malty bitter but rather lacking in bite and, er, bitterness.

Cask condtioned @ JDW, Soton. Rich dark fruits, toasted malts and earthy hop aroma. Quite sweet, but well balanced by faint roastiness and full hop bitterness.

Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London.
Deep clear amber colour, beige head. Strong hop aroma that is generous and forward. Hoppy flavour with vanilla cream and toffee. Good bitter structure and highly quaffable.
