Lovely smelling. Looks a bit grubby but what a heavenly taste. A bit bitter. An underlying sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at the Leinster Arms - Bayswater, London. Pours clear gold with a bubbly white head. Pretty basic golden ale thing here. Some crispy, pale grains and light sweet citrus fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation; condition is pretty good. Sweet finish with lightly bitter citrus rind and grainy pale malts. Fine.

Cask at the Hogs Head, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin white frothy head. The aroma is malty and slightly floral. The flavour is medium bitter, hoppy and malty. A classic example of an English session bitter as it says on the pump clip. I was drinking this while watching the Villa get thumped by United, so maybe that made it taste a little sweeter :-)

Golden bitter with no head. It certainly is an session bitter as it slips down fast without any strength evident. It has a mild tasty fruitiness to it and no real bitterness.

Cask handpull, The Crown, Nuneaton. Murky copper colour, good persistent lid. Hint of catbiscuit aroma but decent dried apricot and blackcurrant fruit. Digestive biscuit, husks, apple peel and coriander-like dust. Good bitter with hints of interest. Cottage are alright.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 15/10/09. Amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of fruity, sweetish malts. Flavour was also malty, with a touch of caramel, hint of earthiness and vaguely bitter finish. Forgettable.

Cask at the Charles Dickens, Sothwark. This good area for pubs is getting even better. I was given a very good sample of this first, but as it was the end of the cask, I was recommended not to make it a pint. A proper session ale, fine malt and hops balance. Very quaffable.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Belvedere, Liverpool. Tasty beer with fruit and caramel and something distinctly medicinal about it. Balanced and sessionable. Nice stuff.

Cask Handpump at the Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield 17/11/2006 Floral slightly rich aroma. Amber coloured and fruity. A little rich on the palate. Some dryness in a crisp full malt finish.
