Aug 7, 2008 Cask at Foy Boat, Ramsgate: Dark mahogany coloured bitter. Fruit, nuts and chocolate with a nice maltiness. This one surprised me, really good bitter.

Aug 3, 2008 Cask at the White Horse, 12th July 2008 with renffisch. Rich dark amber appearance with a strange aroma that brings to mind foliage and tree sap! Great nutty and malty taste, boosted by some nice fruity notes in the middle. Smooth with a good weight, I found this a very flavoursome and enjoyable pint.

Jun 5, 2007 Cask at Doric Arch. Pours ruby-brown with bubbly white head. Hoppy, critic aroma. Lemon, orange rinds.
Full, roasty malt. Resinous, tastes of cherries, apple cider, mulled wine. Mouthfeel is bready, lively.

May 27, 2007 Cask-conditioned at the Inn on the Green, Bristol. Would agree with earlier comments that this bitter is competent but does not stand out from the crowd. A bit of citrus in the aroma, followed by some fruity malt in the flavour and a dry finish.

Sep 14, 2006 A Mes rate: Cask at the Head of Steam. I am ever amazed by English brewers to inspire a 6/3/6/3/13 rate from me and this is another. Standard stuff but with pleasant sweet caramel notes and hints of grapefruit. Slight tobacco finish.
