Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury, courtesy of Rick who wouldn’t let me leave without trying the Cottage beer, cheers Rick. Brown with white head. Fruity malty beer, I got a perfumed strawberry note, so I agree with the fruit jelly comment below. Boiled malts, a touch sweet with hints of caramel. Lacks hops.

Erm, opposite the Hippodrome in Brum. Woodsy malt aroma with a squeeze of old sock. Fruit jelly with too much water. Mealy malt, caramel and mushy biscuit. Had high hopes having tried the DB5. A watery anticlimax.

Cask Handpump at the Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield 07/04/2007 Fruit and malt aromas. Amber coloured and fruity with some sour flavour. Crisp dry malt finish.

Cask handpull at Magpie & Crown, Brentford. Chestnut colour, some malt but fades quickly, some toffee, bit watery. Could be good, but isn’t
