2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
A somewhat cloudy, amber colored beer with a firm layer of foam. It has a deep aroma of grain. It taste a bit watery by the lack of carbon, but the main taste is like licorice. The aftertaste is bitter and stays for a while, but doesn’t fill the entire mouth.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask @ Rivermill Tavern, Eaton Socon. Hazy golden brown, a tiny bit of cream-coloured head. Aroma of wet wood, hints of cinnamon and smoke. Taste is a harsh sour/sweet that fades to a reasonably nice bitterish short finish. A real twiggy brown bitter, and not a great one at that. I don’t really care for this at all.

Cask at the Leinster Arms - Bayswater, London. Pours clear gold-brown with a light foam head. It’s a tasty bitter with toasty bread malt base, mild leafy bitterness, hints of orange, earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Sweet finish with more toast, citrus, light bitter grain husks and dried leaves. Decent offering.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
My Bottom Line:
Subtly earthy hops and toasted malts dwell in a cushy mouthfeel, as lightly fruity caramel greets wet leaves in the finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam floats atop the clear copper.
-The mouthfeel is a tad oily and quite comfortable.
-The leafy, earthy hop bitterness is delicate.
-This is a well-made quencher, but somewhat forgettable.
On cask at The Royal Oak, Twerton-Bath.
