Cask (Helsinki Beer Festival 2004) Not just brown ale - this is heading towards being a porter. Roasty aroma, refreshing taste, a little burnt and with subtle bitterness.

Cask Handpump at the Vernon Arms, Liverpool 18/03/2004 Dark colour and slightly rich on the palate. Fruity with a dry hopy roast finish.

Dark ruby, almost opaque. Nice creamy tanned head. Sweet, hoppy and a bit roasted aroma (not very strong). Thin watery but smooth palate. Aftertaste has a licorice and lacks any bitterness. Quite OK and interesting session beer.

Hand pulled at The Anchor, Birmningham. A chocolately, fruity brown/stouty/portery beer. Strawberry and orange flavours, with some cocoa also. Very dark brown colour, with a thin ring of froth and tiny lacing. Warm, rounded and quite tasty. Reminds me a little of Youngs Double Choc Stout and that's definitely a good thing.

Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London.
Dark, deep red colour, clear and bright with little or no head. Sweet and sour flavour wish is derived from the mixture of malts and barley used. Unique beer that’s for sure.
