Mid to dark brown colour. Very malty with a smooth finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Refreshment Rooms, Dewsbury 30/03/2002
Dark with a hint of red. Some liquorice flavours. Slightly bitter roast finish.

Cask Conditioned & from a hand pump in The Swan (a rather nice Rock Pub) in Liverpool.
With a Sparkler.
Mid / Dark coppery Brown colour. Smells & tastes very Malty.
Quite a quaffable beer, probably the best of the day for me.

Cask conditioned @ JDW Soton. Sweet and fruity with an not altogether pleasant earthy malt aroma. Flavours not well defined. High fizz level.

Copper colour. Toffee and butterscotch in the aroma - not really to my liking. Mainly fruity, with a touch of bitterness coming through at the finish, which is just as well because, otherwise, this is a rather sweet beer. OK, but nothing special. Cask (handpump), Head of Steam, Euston.

Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham. Dark purple/brown, no head really. Very sweet malty beer, with some choc, but really it’s just a sweet melange. Alright, just not defined enough.
