Cask handpull, The Crown, Nuneaton. Dusted bronze with a persistent white collar. Dried apricot, peppery wood aroma with strawberry and vanilla hints. Clean and lemony with a light apricot fruitiness; a suggestion of parsley (coriander?), some jam. Good, and a bit leftfield for Cottage.

Cask conditioned at The Mariners Tavern, Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk. Amber with white head.Standard sweetish, slightly hopped malty bitter. A little grainy, mashy. Average.

Half, cask at Market Porter. Missing head. Reddish highlights to a clear amber body. Smell of caramel malts. Choco-caramel taste with notes of hops. Delicate malt bitter ending (London, 16.07.2010).

Cask at the Gardener’s Arms, Lewes, 17th July 2010. Clear light chestnut. Strong caramel nose and very nutty, caramely on the tongue. Very smooth and rounded. Bit of resin from the hop underneath and a slightly strange tarry/medicinal note. Very nice and extremely drinkable.
