Cask at The Cambridge Blue, Cambridge. Amber with a white head. Looks lovely (a rare 5 for appearance), and it was beautifully served. Grainy malt aroma, tending to the sweet chocolate end of the malt taste spectrum. Autumn leaf malt taste. Slight bitterness. A hint of the homebrew here, but this beer is none the less pleasing for that. Really enjoyed it.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Svesse (5197) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - AUG 7, 2006
(Cask, Market Porter, London, 22 July) Colour is dark amber with little head. Nose is malty and nutty with a distinct hint of hazel nut. Taste is malty and nutty (still hazel nut), with some fruittyness emerging towards the end. Rather dry finish with a balanced amount of dusty hops. Not bad, but not really exciting.

A reasonable session bitter. Very smooth, fruity and quite malty. Not enough bitter bite for my taste. Respectable, but undistinguished. Cask, Great British Beer Festival, August 2003.

Gravity @ Battersea Belch. A tangy session bitter - sweeter than normal, which makes it a bit cloying for any prolonged drinking. Served in reasonable condition. Acceptable.

Cask conditioned handpump Great Eastern Brighton. A brown beer with an off-white puddle of head. Too warm, malty and blighted with a little diacetyl. Sweet caramel notes. Tastes chewier than it should. Not the best.
