Well, what a surprise - another Cottage "occasional". Appealing clear gold colour, but there is nothing very distinct in the aroma. The flavour is rather grassy with a slight musty note in the background. Quite clean but short of hop bite. Hints of malt. Quite light bodied. The finish is soft, tending towards flabbiness, with a sweetish honey tang. OK, but undistinguished. Cask (handpump), Head of Steam, Euston, London NW1.

Cask Handpump at the Smithfield Hotel, Manchester 17/03/2002 Straw golden colour and slightly rich on the palate. Fruity with a pleasant hop finish.
