Golden colour and very fruity with some alcohol and sourness. Lasting malt hop finish.

Cask, Wetherspoon's Watch House, Lewisham. Good condition. A dirty gold colour. Sweetish with some soft but tangy hops; quite earthy but with citric tones. Malt becomes cloying in the finish. Some honey flavours up front - but on the whole quite muddy. Not great.

I remember the name being 'Swift Hound'not 'Swift Hand', but my writing isn't so clear anyway, so i guess this is the beer. Sweet toffe-ish start, thin to medium bodied, with some bitter hop in the finish, uncomplicated, but enjoyable. Had this one on cask aswell.

Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms. Dave says to me so ‘so what nest then?’. I say ‘I’ve had everything on mate’. He says ‘wait just a ??? minute, I’ll be right back’. Down the cellar stairs the saint goes, to return with tomorrow’s spoils. The man is a saint. It was lovely and golden, just settling down pale ale. Fresh, crisp, pale looking. Fruity but nicely so. This was turning out to be a very civilised afternoon at the Wenlock’.
