Cask conditioned handpull at The Edgar Wallace, Temple. Very deep ruby colour with thin dark beige head. Decent old style ale. Decent malts. Nice old style sourish fruit. Actually stale, black cherry. Nice choc. In fact one of my favourite old ales. Choc and sour dark fruit.

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Dark brown with beige head. Mostly sweet in character, there is a treacle flavour and slighlty burnt note a little fruitiness, but the sweetness does dominate the beer. Short finish and reasonably smooth. It’s ok.
