Bottled from cask. Rough earthy malt characters, aswell as a slight green hop character. Quite sweet, with an empty finish. A little dull.

Bright bottled from cask at Kookfest, September 2006. Copper colour with a very slight haze. Earthy, vegetal aroma. Very flat mouthfeel. Fair amount of robust, rustic hop. OK but not particularly noteworthy.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2009 Pale dirty brown body with very little head. What do they use to brew this? This Thames Tunnel sure looks similar to the Thames River! I’m surprised by the low ratings. Of the countless light same-old cask Bitters I had in London this one was one of my favourite. Delicious toffee/malt flavours well balanced by those mild English hops. Nothing extraordinary, just well put together and something I could drink on a regular basis in large quantity.

Mungo (2472) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - SEP 19, 2006
Cask takeaway @ Kookfest. Mushroom, toasty cereal, earthy malts cellars and toffee. Light mouthfeel, soft and flat. Sweetish without backup of hops. Fairly similar to some other cottage beers but not quite as good.

A Mes rate: Cask at The Phoenix in Canterbury. Malt and toffee all round really. Bags of toffee in the nose and a surprisingly sweet flavour. Flat. Slight tartyness in the dryish finish.

Bottle at Kook’s Leaving Do at Chris_o’s Thanks to Mungo for bringing this one. Pale chestnut colour with no head. Earthy, toffee aroma, but tastes fairly flat in mouth even though it was quite bubbly in the bottle. Rich, like a number of cottage. Bit flat. Finish has some dryness.

Bottled from Cask (Chris_o Gathering06): Copper with a nice glassy hue. Nice clean bitter. A bit simple but nice fruits and malt.
