Cask Conditioned at The Cwellyn Arms, Rhyd Ddu, Gwynedd, Wales. Brown in clour with thick white head. Sweet malty beer but a touch bland and tasteless. Short lasting and flabby. By now I was comatose anyway after the climb and several pints.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2006 Reddish colour. Dark, malty aroma. Fresh flavour with some hop bite, but nothing too assertive. Quite fruity. Like many Cottage beers, I found this respectable, but unexciting. Cask (handpump), Red Lion, Isleworth. (6/3/6/3/12).
RE-RATE. Handpump at The Raven, Bath, April 2006. Showing better. Deep copper colour. Strong malty aroma. More hops come though on the palate - earthy and citric at the same time. Some late liquorice too. (7/3/6/4/14). Average of the two scores given.
