cheapdark (1542), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 26, 2008 Sampled from draft at the Carolina Beer Company in the Charlotte airport during a layover at 9am in the morning. Darker rootbeer appearance. Creamy head. mild dark beer aroma, but no fragrance really sticks out. A well behaved dark brew. Good example of a friendly dark beer without any offensive attributes. Wet old roasty back woods flavors. On th finish, not offensive yet provides the satisfaction of good beer personality.
Beershine (1131), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2008 Part of draught sampler at Charlotte airport. Reddish-brown, almost opaque, tan head. Muted whispers of caramel. Thin and fizzy mouthfeel. Hidden chocolate malts need to be brought more to the fore. Not getting it. maugus4ever (22), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Jul 31, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a medium off-white head and no lacing. Nice balance of hops and malt, but I would have liked more of both. This is a pretty standard brown ale. timsilvia32 (164), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Jul 16, 2008 Your basic brown.
