3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
FROM NOTES: November 1, ’13.
A: Strong citrus and pine hop notes, with an equally strong bready aroma.
A: Pours a clear and bright copper-amber under a sudsy head that leaves behind a nice lacing.
T: Initially watery and flavorless, but copious amounts of butter cracker and slight caramel malts come into play before the herbal hops add some bitterness on the finish.
P: Medium body and moderate carbonation.
O: Fits the East coast IPA stereotype, more English style than American.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a ear copper body under a frothy beige head that left some sticky lace. The nose is more husky and crystal malt than hops, which is never a good sign for an IPA in my book. The flavor is much the same, this is overly sweet and malt forward with just a light bitterness and lacking in hop flavor. Lingering husky and sweet maltiness. Light to medium bodied, a little sticky, soft fizzy carbonation. Meh, not my kind of IPA.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle to shaker glass. Pours hazy orange/amber, two finger off white head. Some lacing but good retention. Aroma of spruce and caramel. Taste is moderately bitter, slightly sweet. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, slick mouth feel. Finishes moderately bitter. Tasting notes of caramel, pine, herbs and grass. Middle of the road IPA but drinkable.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hazy copper/brown color with almost no head. Aroma has a caramel nose with a ton of earthy bitterness. The flavor has clashing characteristics. One one side it wants to be extra hoppy but on the other is has a strong minerally and caramel malt presence. Both of these characteristic make a pretty rough IPA. Body is modest with a very low amount of carbonation. Overall I am not a fan at all of this beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from the hotel bar in Mystic.
Pours a deep amber color with a smallish off white head. Lots of bready caramel with earthy citrus a mineral to balance, Passable craft beer, but a bit pedestrian.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Average at best. Not much aroma and not a lot of flavor either. Kind of an English style, sweet with the hops more subdued.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a somewhat hazy yellow to golden orange color with a decent one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing that slid right on into the beer.
The smell had a nice English sweet maltiness running over top of some light bitter piney hops.
The taste was English malty sweet with that same bitter piney hoppiness running underneath to balance it a bit.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body and had a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was suited more towards an English IPA than an American one (there was a certain subdued carbonation about it).
Overall, yup, sure is. This is an English IPA made by an American brewer and its definitely one of the better ones on the market in the U.S. I say get it if you like the EIPA style.
