2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 zdk9 (183) - Texas, USA - JUN 27, 2011
(12oz bottle Best by November, thanks to Cavie) Pours orange/yellow with light fuzzy white bubbles. Smell is lemony, butterscotch, cooked malt syrup, maybe dirty feet. Taste is better- biscuit malt, lemon, sweet orange. Not bad.

Sampled at 4th NoVA Summer Brewfest. Pours clear amber with a large, creamy off-white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, straw), light hops (earthy), and light esters (fruity) with notes of dates. Flavor is heavy malt with hops and a bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth and a dry finish.

Amber pour, creamy white head that disappeared very quickly. Spicy hops, light tea, very light agave syrup notes in the nose. Flavor spicy hops, light resin, some earthy/grassy notes. Better than the aroma for sure.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Strykzone (3814) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 7, 2011
A hazy copper golden colored beer with a creamy light gold head that lasts nicely and leaves layered lacing. A pleasant nose of honey, flowers, and raw grain. Citrus fruit is the first thing tasted with some bitter tart citrus after that. Grain and caramel comes close to balancing the hops. With a little less malt this could be a pale ale. Tasty.

A - Pours a hazy orange-red color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down to a ring around the glass leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of sweet toasted caramel malts and a touch of grassy hops. Not overly complex, but it is decently present.
T - Starts off with a nice blend of sweet roasted caramel malts and some grassy/floral hops in the background. Very nicely balanced. Through the middle some sweeter caramel flavors come through. The finish adds a touch of bread flavor alongside some hop bitterness with lingers nicely.
M - Medium-light bodied with moderate tingly carbonation. Smooth and crisp with a nice semi-dry finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nicely balanced smooth flavors and really crisp feeling. Also, the flavor is not overly powerful, but there is plenty there to enjoy.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Thorpe429 (4844) - , Illinois, USA - APR 13, 2011
Reviewed from notes.
Poured into a tulip. Body is a light orange-apricot color with a white head that does not leave behind much of any lacing. The nose is really light with just a touch of malt and the faintest of hops in the background. Hops are nearly gone from the flavor other than a touch of bitterness. Slightly-sweet doughy malt is all that exists. Mouthfeel is okay. This drinks well enough but there’s really nothing going on and not much to say about it.

Pours a deep amber color with a half inch head which disapates to a thin ring quickly. Has a Has a mild fruity spice aroma. has a mild cider like bitter taste in the beginning but then mellows. Finishes on the dry side. Not a bad brew and I’d drink it again. Had from 12 oz. bottle.

Not a bad beer, pretty much par for the course or what I expected, pretty nice amber, good malt and hop balance, nice flavor, nothing too out of the ordinary but very solid non the less....had on tap.

12oz bottle. Pours a medium copper color with plenty of carbonation. Somewhat metallic aftertaste. Nothing great here, could easily be mistaken for a macro.
