Old Yankee Ale is a medium bodied, American Amber Ale, that has a great up-front malt taste with a refreshing hop finish.

Cloudy, amber brown with a short off-white head. Scent is caramel malt....though a bit faint. Taste is more toffee-like, smooth, a hint of bitter, herbal hops. A very smooth, balanced beer. Quite solid. Courtesy of my beer brother the Shrubber from his East Coast Swing.

Bottle. Poured a dark copper color with an average to large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and had excellent lacing. Good balanced malt and hop aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate balanced smooth flavor with a medium balanced finish of moderate duration. Good brew.

Bottle. Buttery caramel malt and tea aroma. Hazy amber with a small ivory head. Sweet buttery caramel flavor. There seems to be a diacetyl issue going on with this one. Medium body, light to flat carbonation.

Bottle. Toffee malt and hay aroma. Hazy amber with moderate head. Slightly sweet toffee malt and mildly bitter grassy hops flavor. Nice easy drinking beer.

Smooth, malty, a little hint of fruit, and a dry finish. Very balanced and overall, a great session ale.

Serving: Draft. It pours a light amber color with a slight, white head. The nose has notes of butter and caramel. The flavor has metallic notes with slight butter, grain, and an off bitterness. Serious flaws with this brew.

Bottle from whole foods Reston - pours a clear amber with a thin head. Aroma is meaty-malty with a piney hop finish. Taste is gets progressively bitterer as it goes down palate is dry. Overall, not bad, but this isn’t my style.

Pours a hazy reddish amber with very little head. Aroma is tea-like malt, warm and rich. Taste is nicely malt forward followed by a subtle spiciness that cleanly offsets the sweet richness of the malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
