Nice reddish/copper color. A well-balanced english style ale. Some biscuit and bready malts. Enough hops for a little kick, but overall it doesn’t leave a strong impression.

Bottle shared by Matt on man night. Aroma is nice and malty with some bread crust, apple core, and slight floral. Pours amber and a little on the flat side with small white lacing. Taste follows suit with agave nectar, bread crust, and apple peel. Very nice malty and warm mouthfeel throughout. Very tasty old ale. Would have this again gladly.

Nice amber. Malty sweet aroma balanced by a good amount of bitterness. Very smooth and tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Perfect mild amber ale to pair with seafood on the Connecticut coast. Right amounts of hoppiness to make it easily drinkable and enjoy the taste of the fresh seafood. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a decent looking pale amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within seconds. Yup, it sure looked like that head didn’t want to last for any possible party that could occur (wow, I never saw any head dissipate so quickly). Anyways, there was some light lacing but that slid for the most part into the beer. The smell tried to have a roasty yet somewhat nutty caramel maltiness but honestly, it was more just some cooked caramel notes about it. The taste was a dry sweet caramel maltiness that had a dry sweet aftertaste. There was a decent dry finish. On the palate, this one sat at/about a light to medium in body with a sessionability that wanted to occur, but I found myself not finding this one as sessionable as I was hoping to as it just seemed like it wanted to be sipped (weird, well, anyways). Overall, hey uh...honestly not a bad Amber ale. However, I’m not exactly sure if I’d come back to this if actually given the chance as there’s just something about the palate that keeps me on the fence.

Bottle courtesy of Adam, Pince of Mogadishu, thank you sir. Bright, hazy golden amber color, tiny white edge head. Aroma of lightly burnt toast, caramel. Taste starts with sweet caramel then a bitter finish. Pretty plain.

(US 2012 backlog recollected in abstinent tranquility). $6 Draught@Kickshaw, Astoria 03/09/2012. Fast dispppearing head. Mild, if not bland, amber ale with some malt caramels, but no real characteristic malt profile; some hop tinge, but no real hop profile. Runny, unsubstantial body. Drinkable enough, but nothing to either shock, startle or gently lure you out of a severe jetlag.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. I do like the label. The color is medium caramel amber with a modest , lingering off-white head. It has the look for the style. Aroma is nondescript basically with a touch of caramel malts, biscuit, and mild hops but nothing jumps out. The body is light to medium. In the flavor the hoops tend to butt into the caramel and sweet malty character I get at first. Nothing extraordinary here.

Aroma - faint biscuit malt and some spicy hops Appearance - body is amber, the liquid on the hazy side, the head sets up white and about 3/4" and starts to settle Taste - slightly bitter, some soapiness about the taste, a caramel malt is present. Palate - the body is light, the texture thin, the carbonation lively on the palate, the finish is somewhat astringent, again a somewhat soapy quality about the beer, which I find unpleasant.
