2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, USA - MAR 9, 2003
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2005 2003: This really didn’t do a lot for me, not sure what to make of all of the praise; perhaps it was an off night. Really undistinguished beer that to my taste buds was more an English Pale Ale than anything else, medium sweetness/dryness, low hops, caramel...ehhh. What else to say? 6/3/7/3/13 3.2
2005: sweet, clean honey, grainy, bare hints of smoky bitterness...yeah, pretty much the same only I’m a harder rater now...
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jsmerig (538) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2012
Pours a hazy reddish amber with very little head. Aroma is tea-like malt, warm and rich. Taste is nicely malt forward followed by a subtle spiciness that cleanly offsets the sweet richness of the malt.

Pours a three-finger light cream head that fades slowly to a ring leaving some lace. Hazy amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is light hops and flavor is bready, some hops with hints of caramel. $2.09 for a 12oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

draft at Fette Sau, lighter amber pour, mild caramel malt driven aroma. Pretty plain jane amber flavor, light fruit, mild bitterness & sweet caramel maltiness. Not a bad beer but just pretty boring beer. Not bad with Fette Sau’s amazing food though

Bottle at Mystic Seaport. The aroma is caramel, pine and citrus hops. Clear amber, off-white head. The flavor is actually bitter, little caramel. The finish is bitter pine, some citrus. Decent.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 VTHopHead (1387) - Barre, Vermont, USA - OCT 23, 2011
Sampled at The Great Lost Bear - Poured an orangish amber in color with a small off-white head which settled to a very thin covering on the beer. Aroma mixes caramel/toffee malts and grassy hops. Flavor adds the complexity of some bready yeast to the hops and malt. Somewhat bland in flavor and a bit watery. Just OK...
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 eyes_wide_shut (104) - Haifa, ISRAEL - OCT 8, 2011
At a tiny tasting in my home, bottle, pours orange color with a nice off-white head that dissipates quickly, sparkling, non-dominant and slightly hoppy aroma, slightly metallic taste, bitter aftertaste, light body, and overall an average and not terribly interesting amber ale
beer.

Amber pour with a spice, giner and bread aroma. Some spice and caramel malt taste. Dry, thin. Eh.

A rather bland and boring beer. It doesn’t taste bad. It lacks depth and character.
