Hazy brown orange with off white head. Aroma is pure jalapeño. Taste is strong creamy jalapeños. Good beer. Not for me.

Thin fading head. The taste is very balanced malty with a slight jalapeno bite. Aroma is very light on the pepper side but it is present. Smokiness works very well with the jalapeno.

Draft sample. Pours a clear dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have nice smoked malts, spicy peppers, ash, dark chocolate, earthy bitterness, decent body and mouthfeel. The ashy smoke lingers through the finish.

on draft and pours a darkish brown with off white head. the aroma is smoke. I like smoke. get some roasted malts and smoke. the flavor is more of the same and I was wondering where the jalapeno is until is burped and there it was...not much in the initial flavor but on the back end you get a little bit of the pepper burn. as for a smoke beer its decent and pretty middle of the road. but nothing else.

Draft sample. Poured hazy dark brown with an average tan frothy head that was mostly lasting with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy smoke malt and roasted peppers aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet smoked flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Complex good beer.

Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a cloudy brown with amber edges and a small beige head. Aroma of smoked malts, jalapeño and chipotle peppers, toast, leather, and tobacco. Flavor of the same malts and peppers and tobacco. Man, the peppers are subtle and so is the smoke. So well-balanced. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Drinks like a liquid version of your grandpa’s jacket he wore to the bar when he got home from the war. Fucking manly.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a fairly transparent dark brown with thin light beige lacing. Smells solid; smoke, malt, and nuttiness balanced well with the spice from the jalapeños. Tastes like it smells, only not quite as balanced. Solid on the palate. Not bad.

Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Pretty much totally clear brown color. Little khaki head, couple dots and bits of lace. Medium plus body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Great milk chocolate, light roast, and the perfect amount of jalapeno kick. Lighter to medium bitter taste, moderate sweet, and a good jalapeno spicy kick. Not anywhere near being too spicy or bothersome, probably more sweet than spicy really, but definitely enough to be a notable component of the flavor profile. Comprises of maybe 25% of the flavor, the spiciness does. A well-done jalapeno porter.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of peppers, roasted malt, chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, smoked meats, plenty of pepper, roasted nuts. Peppery but not too hot. Complex and delicious. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)
