Bottle thanks to PhillyCraft! Pours clear chestnut, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly to some residual and lacing. Aroma is bourbon, oak tannin, coffee. Flavor is kind of like watered down bourbon. Base beer just does not have the oomph to hold up to this treatement. Oak, bourbon, water, toffee. Light body, a bit watery here too. PVW sharpness.

Deep red pour with tan head. Aroma is malty, wood and vanilla with a hint of bourbon. Taste follows nose. A little sweet. Not sure I would notice the bourbon if I were not looking for it.

I’m sure they are able to charge more just because it is aged in pappy barrels. Really good though.

Rated on 10-21-2015 at 800 Degrees Three Fires-Fort Wayne, IN. This draft beer is served with a a very small beige head that is mostly lasting, transparent copper body, and no carbonation observed. The aroma is caramel malt, sweet, dark fruit and vanilla. The flavor of this beer is caramel malt, fruity, vanilla, and moderately boozy. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is light-medium bodied. This is a sipping beer that is worth trying.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of finely sized bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a uncarbonated transparent cola brown colored body and a oily lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The crisp mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish mild vinous hop aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of roasted malt and mild hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

on tap at Sir Walter’s in Beckley, WV; deep red color; nice bourbon and oak aroma; mild bourbon notes on a fairly light, bready malt base; bourbon and oak in the finish; pretty smooth and easy drinking for 9.1% abv

Draft to taster with minimal white head. Pour dark amber. Nose light Bourbon and sweet malt. Taste Bourbon, sweet stone fruit, then vanilla. Light Bourbon on the finish.

Flavor is of caramel, bourbon, and oak. Nice dark sugar flavor also. Tastes and smell is balanced for a strong ale. Very nice mouthfeel. Thin fading head. Good beer!

Taster at brewery. Nose is dependable bourbon. Sip adds wood and earthy notes. Just a treat. I didn’t expect Pappy until I read the description. Lovely to have.

Draft. Deep hazy maroon brown color, tan head. Aroma of burnt caramel, vanilla, chocolate, whiskey. Taste is more bourbon, vanilla, dark fruit. Tasty.
