Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a translucent dark amber with off-white lacing. Smells good too; sweet and malty without being cloying. Nots of caramel, bourbon, and oak. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Good beer!

"2 oz" bottle pour at SAVOR’s Friday night session. Poured a clear red color with a small off-white head. Aroma was sweet malts, vanilla notes, brown sugar. Flavor was some caramel, brown sugar, almost cocoa character in this. Touch of light bourbon character - sweet enjoyable. Would drink again.

6oz pour at Smoke and Barrel. Pours a translucent brick red with some sticky, sudsy off white head. Nose has a bit of booze, coconut, vanilla, brown sugar, malt, cracker, a hint of herb. Flavors are really well blended, malt, cracker, some booze, vanilla, caramel, biscuit, some orange, some dried fruit, a little bit of windex. Clean finish. Great barrel treatment.

Sweet, caramely, with nice flavors of vanilla, bourbon, and oak. Slight tartness, but overall smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour from a growler shared by umr_urgefan- thanks again, Paul! Pours a clear amber color with no head. Nice bourbon barrel nose- vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, dust, and oak. The flavor is a muted version of the same. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a dry, fairly flat mouthfeel. Smells nice and falls short of expectations ultimately. The base beer doesn’t appear to have much to it.

The barrel really shows through the palate of this brew. Pleased with the overall complexity of the beer. One of my top reds!

On tap at the brewpub in Lexington. Small, weak off-white head over a dark red-brown body. Smells great, with high-end whisky, some vanilla, burnt sugars and a touch of dark fruit. The taste follows, with a very well calibrated dose of whisky barrel treatmnet. Lightly sweet. Low carbonation and near medium body. O: Excellent. Best barrel aged amber/red I’ve ever had.

(tap at tasting at Party Town, Florence, KY) hazy brown colour with a small brown head; aromas of smoked fruit, vanilla; rich, balanced flavour with a long light bitter finish; excellent

Taster at the brewery. There is a huge bourbon nose on this that is really overpowering in a good way. The flavor is initially very bourbon forward and has a smooth silky mouth feel and finishes with a slight pine hop flavor.
