3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft: Pours dark brown... nutty looking I guess... Nice and sweet, bready. This is a good brown, not the best I have had, but far from the worse as well. I feel like I could, and should drink a whole lot of these.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2014 Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #17. Draft at the brewery. Let’s fall in love with music, the driving force of our times! <sorry> Pours a hazy dark amber color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong vanilla, doughy malts and a bit of toast. Comes across a lot like a plain glazed doughnut. The taste is vanilla, toasted malts, herbal hops. Medium bodied.

On tap at brewpub
A nice sessionable brown ale is a mixture of British and Midwestern influences. The sort of things that you could drink several pints of easily this shows that Country Boy is not a one trick pony. Of their lighter taps this might be the best.
Aroma / Appearance - A caramel base is fluid and lively. A ring of ivory head accompanies the soft body. Above it waves of vanilla, cream soda, and a light maltiness brighten the air. This is balanced without being bland.
Flavor / Palate - Cream soda and vanilla spices refresh the palate. Without an overbearing presence the hops add nice depth. The brief finish of malty almonds tastes a bit like a hoppy soda. This is a nice release and a style that I wish more breweries would attempt without amping it up to 6% ABV.

A great brown ale that has just the right sweetness. Light on the tongue and solid flavor.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a surprisingly light amber color - not really brown at all - with a small off-white head. Definitely a good vanilla presence in this, along with toasted and caramel malts, nuts, and some earthy hops. Light-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a sweet and toasty, but really smooth and clean mouthfeel. Interesting brown ale that worked for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent light copper with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells chocolatey and malty with light hop notes. Tastes like it smells with a fairly thin mouthfeel. A solid example of the style.
