Commercial Description:
Goodbye bitterness, so long fullness, hello happiness. Country Club Malt Liquor remains the smooth, non-filling and refreshing Malt Liquor it was back in 1951 when it first began.

This was an awesome looking can I picked up at a Von’s down in San Deigo. White can, triple X and lots of quotable propaganda on the front. Unfortunately, my friend thought it would be cool to show me how he could smash it on his forehead before I had a chance to upload a picture of it. Sigh. Anyways, it was fairly bad. Rough ethanol, acidic adjuncts and sour bitter hops and cheap malt. I’m not even to the flavor yet! As it’s cold it isn’t too bad, but if it warms up just a touch, it quickly turns downhill. Very strong and punchy. Dry stinging finish with a noticabile rice or corn thing in the background.

Bottle 22oz from Party Source, KY. Clear light amber pour with a small frothy white head that fully diminshed. Light grainy hop aroma. Light body with a watery oily texture and soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor with a light grainy sour finish of short duration. Cold wet alcohol with no character.

Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), trace hops (herbs), with a hint of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Wow, it's nicely balanced with bitterness and reasonably clean tasting apart from a little grainy character.

Courtesy of Iceman. Poured a deep gold. The aroma is corn and sweet cherries. The taste has bread with some slight bell pepper. A very light flavor for a malt liquor.

Qt. bottle. Light aroma of pale malt and alcohol. Brassy gold color with a decent white head that laced slightly. Thin body; moderate carbonation. The flavor is sweet malt, zero bitter. It is not sickenly alcoholic, not stirring nausea. May be one of the less obnoxious malt liquors. Hard for me to drink decades ago; no point for me to drink today. D.P. Not cause it’s all that bad, it’s just not worth the brain cell loss and calory gain.

40 oz... Orange, pale gold color with a white ring around the top. Corn, metallic sweet aroma, with much of the same in the taste. After taste hung around rather long, and was somewhat unpleasant.

Can. One of the worst malt liquors i’ve had its less intense yeah, but i thought a big taste was the point of the style. This light malt beverage was just to plain for me with nothing to appriciate.

Can courtesy of Immy. Straw yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is metallic with corn, sugary cereal, grains and hints of fruit. Taste is also sweet but lacks the metallic hints that the nose had. Lots of cream corn, sugared cereal, soft fruit notes and grains. Actually, it’s better than the aroma let on and not that horrible, believe it or not. Body is thin and very fizzy. Ends with more corn syrup, ceral, straw and light fruit. A surprise in the fact it doesn’t taste like vomit!
