50cl bottle. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. The head disappears quickly. Nose - toffee mostly. Taste - toffee, light biscuit. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - not worth a revisit.

Appearance: Clear amber with finger thick ivory head. Aroma: Biscuit, floral and fruity. Taste: Low bitterness, low/medium sweet and sourness. Palate: Thin grainy texture, light body, average carbonation, abrupt biscuity, fruity finish. Comments: Tasty and glass lace. Easy session beer. Review if for bottled version 3.6% ABV.

Nose is light malt slight cereal. Very bland. Taste is light malt leading to a little butter scotch. Slightly too fizzy. This is a surprisingly poor bitter.

500 ml bottle bought at Wellcome Superstore in Sheung Shui.

Clear dark amber colour; Very thin head and residual white foam which faded in 15 seconds; Small sticky lacing with slight carbonation; Fragrant sweet aroma of malt, raisins / dark fruit , bread, caramel, toffee, sugar and slight grass; Light sweet taste of thin malt, with dry biscuits, light bread, light yeast, faint hint of red fruit and citrus, and slight grass; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is a very straight forward and clean watery ale, with pretty decently malty and very dry biscuit character, quite clean, no foul is detectable, nor there is much variety in taste, either; Hoppiness is hint of citrus and slight grass in nose and taste. Bitterness is close to zero, no much finish to speak of; Dry after taste, very easy to mouth.

Comments: The simplest Bitter of it all - watery, okay nose, minimal taste, no fault and no Hoppiness to write home about. Ironically, this simpleton is technically better than Courage Director. Still, once is enough.

Bottle. Nice dark colour, thin head, caramel flavour, quite hoppy but a bit thin in body, weak too at only 3.8 abv, perfectly drinkable bitter as long as its a reasonable price.
